Introduction
The person of Jesus Christ stands at the center of Christianity. Every doctrine, every promise, every aspect of salvation ultimately depends upon who Jesus is. If Jesus were merely a man, He could not save humanity. If Jesus were only God and not truly man, He could not represent humanity. The Bible reveals a glorious truth: Jesus Christ is fully God and fully man.
This doctrine, often called the Hypostatic Union, teaches that Jesus possesses two complete natures—divine and human—in one Person. He is not half God and half man. He is fully God and fully man simultaneously.
This truth is essential because only One who is truly God could bear the infinite weight of humanity’s sin, and only One who is truly man could serve as humanity’s substitute.
The Father sent His Son into the world, the Son willingly took on human flesh, and the Holy Spirit empowered His earthly ministry. Through the Blood of Jesus, believers receive salvation because the God-Man accomplished what no one else could.

The Father’s Role
The Father planned redemption and sent His Son into the world.
Galatians 4:4
“But when the fullness of the time had come, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the law.”
The incarnation was not an afterthought but part of God’s eternal redemptive plan.
The Father’s love is demonstrated in sending His Son to redeem humanity.
The Son’s Role
Jesus willingly became man while remaining fully God.
Philippians 2:6-7
“Who, being in the form of God… made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men.”
As God, He revealed the Father.
As man, He represented humanity.
Through His perfect life and sacrificial death, Jesus became the only sufficient Savior.
The Holy Spirit’s Role
The Holy Spirit miraculously conceived Christ in the womb of Mary.
Luke 1:35
“The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Highest will overshadow you.”
The Spirit also empowered Jesus throughout His earthly ministry and continues to reveal Christ to believers today.
Covenant Significance
The New Covenant required a perfect mediator.
Only Jesus could fulfill this role because He alone is both God and man.
As man, He represented humanity.
As God, His sacrifice possessed infinite value.
The Blood of Jesus established the New Covenant because the God-Man offered Himself as the perfect sacrifice.

Understanding who Jesus is affects:

Prayer
Heavenly Father,
Thank You for sending Your Son into the world to save humanity. Thank You for Your eternal plan of redemption and for revealing Your love through Jesus Christ.
Lord Jesus, I worship You as fully God and fully man. Thank You for leaving Heaven, taking on human flesh, living a sinless life, and shedding Your precious Blood for my salvation.
Holy Spirit, reveal Christ more deeply to my heart. Help me understand the greatness of His person, the sufficiency of His sacrifice, and the glory of His redemption.
May my life reflect faith, worship, obedience, and devotion to the One who is both God and Savior.
