Devotional
God’s refining work is always connected to His purpose.
Throughout Scripture, God prepared His servants before He promoted them. Moses spent years in the wilderness. David endured seasons of waiting before becoming king. Joseph experienced betrayal and imprisonment before leading a nation.
The process prepared them for the assignment.
God is not only interested in what you do for Him—He is interested in who you become. Character always comes before calling.
The refining process removes pride, self-reliance, impatience, and compromise so that we become vessels He can use with greater effectiveness.
Rather than asking, “Lord, why am I going through this?” begin asking, “Lord, what are You preparing me for?”
God never wastes the fire.
